Copyright

Paperbark is rooted in themes of stewardship, innovation, and possibility, and we want our content to be motivated by a desire to trace the connections between science, culture, and sustainability. Submissions for art, poetry, prose and science communication pieces about sustainability that are focused around that issue’s theme are accepted in electronic form through our Submittable portal on a rolling basis.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Technical submissions guidelines can be found on the submissions page. We will consider simultaneous submissions; however, we ask that you notify us immediately if your work has been accepted elsewhere. We will consider submissions that have been previously published. Please indicate, with your submission, whether and where it has been previously published, and whether you have the rights to authorize its further publication.

AUTHOR RIGHTS

Should Paperbark accept your work for publication, we will ask you to sign a publishing agreement granting Paperbark non-exclusive rights to publish your work in our annual publication, to be sold in hard copy and to be made available online. You will retain copyright in your work, but subsequent publications of the work must include a credit line indicating that the work first appeared in Paperbark, with the appropriate issue and year.
